InnoVitamin Solutions: The Why behind the brand
The Mission: To Help People
As a nurse, and later, as a nurse practitioner, Morris saw countless patients with a variety of illnesses and ailments. But almost all of them had one complaint in common: “If I had a nickel for all of times that someone told me they’re tired, I would be a millionaire.” Morris said. But when she saw how fast and how well IV treatments worked, she knew exactly how she could help the Richmond community she calls home.
As a biology major in college, Morris wanted to become a physical therapist. But after dipping her toes in the field, she realized she wanted to do more for people—she wanted to see a more immediate difference in the people she helped. That’s when she found nursing, which she realized was just a different path to her ultimate destination: to improve the quality of peoples’ lives.
After several successful years in the field, Morris completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and received her Virginia board certification as a family nurse practitioner. In her new position, Morris was able to help her patients in a more comprehensive way, by overseeing their overall health and treatment journey. She loved playing a part in healthcare management, but she knew she could still do more.
As a nurse, Morris mostly cared for patients who were already dealing with sickness. She wondered how she could help people before they even got sick. Everyone knows how important vitamins and proper hydration are for preventing disease and living a healthy lifestyle. But what most people don’t know is how many vitamins and how much time it takes to produce a tangible effect.
The Means: IV Therapy
Have you ever wondered what takes so long to feel a difference after starting a new vitamin supplement? That’s because only 30 to 40 percent of the vitamins we take in oral supplement form are absorbed into the bloodstream. So the effects only become noticeable after a significant amount of the vitamin has built up in the system. On the other hand, over 95 percent of the vitamins administered via intravenous therapy are absorbed, so the results are speedy. Take an iron infusion. While it may take anywhere from three to six months for the body’s iron levels to rise from iron supplements, it only takes a couple days when the iron is administered through an IV.
Morris wanted people everywhere to experience the power of IV therapy, not just those who were already struggling with disease in a hospital setting. But she wanted to set her new business apart in a market that was seeing more and more IV therapy services pop up.
Modern and Mobile: Concierge Vitamins
And then came COVID-19. All of a sudden, the doctor’s office went from being the place people went to get healthy to being a place where they risked getting sick. That’s when genius struck Morris: she could bring IV therapy to her clients, or start a “concierge vitamin service,” if you will. People who just wanted an extra boost of energy and vitamins didn’t have to risk going to doctors’ offices, where potential COVID-19 patients filled waiting rooms and patient queues. Morris wanted to strengthen her clients’ immune systems in the safety, privacy, and convenience of their own homes.
And though we may not be in the height of a global pandemic anymore, Morris has found great success with mobile IV therapy after coronavirus. Because many professionals never returned to the office after the pandemic, Morris provides her clients the luxury of multitasking. What’s better than answering emails or taking work calls while having an infusion? And because so many of Morris’ clients juggle busy lifestyles, demanding schedules, and frequent business trips, IV therapy is the perfect way to quench their chronic dehydration. Busy professionals who don’t even have time to drink water usually don’t have the time to take a trip to a doctor’s office.
However, Morris still treats patient with chronic or immediate health conditions and a more substantial need for IV therapy. But now, she can treat them in their home, away from the germs that could exist in medical facilities, and without the long waiting times that undoubtedly do.
The results Morris sees among her clients are astounding. Her clients not only feel and look better, from clearer skin to better brain function, but their lab results look better, too. Which was Morris’ original goal when she started InnoVitamin Solutions: to help people and give them everything they need to move through their daily lives at the top of their game.
